Elegant, best kept secret for Auburn parents We just spent a couple of nights at Heritage House in Opelika while moving our son into his apartment for his sophomore year at Auburn, and I can honestly say it was the best lodging decision we’ve made since he started school. Heritage House is a gorgeous 1913 home that’s been turned into a boutique bed-and-breakfast, and the place is immaculate. Every room—from the parlors to the dining room—feels like it’s been lovingly cared for. The decor hits that perfect balance between historic charm and real comfort. It’s not fussy or overdone, just beautiful and inviting. Our room was extremely comfortable, the bed was fantastic, and we slept like rocks. In the morning, breakfast was served in an elegant dining room that made us feel like guests in a grand old home, not just visitors passing through. The owners, Leif and Dani, were incredibly attentive and communicative about check-in and anything else we needed, without hovering. The location is also a big win. You’re in the heart of historic downtown Opelika, which is full of great restaurants, bars, and shops, all within walking distance. We wandered into a beautifully curated vintage vinyl store and had an outstanding dinner at a nearby gastropub—both just steps from the front door. And it’s only a short drive to Auburn, which meant we could enjoy the game-day energy when we wanted to, then escape the crowds and relax in peace. We’ll definitely be booking here again for football weekends, parents’ weekend, and eventually graduation. If you want a place with real character, comfort, and hospitality, this is it.

BEST BED AND BREAKFAST EVER !!! If I could give more stars I would. Everything at Heritage House is PERFECT ! The owners are so friendly and the house is AMAZING!!! Luscious breakfast. Wonderful bedding. I will stay there every time I am in the area !

A memorable stay! This was my second visit to Heritage House and I plan on staying there again and again. My room was so beautiful, clean, and comfortable. You can imagine yourself living there decades ago (as I actually did in a different house two blocks away 50 years ago.) Dani and Leif are wonderful hosts. Leif makes a great breakfast served in the beautiful Dining Room. A friend and I sat on the beautiful front veranda as the evening slipped away. I highly recommend.

Great stay for work or fun! I so enjoy staying there, the best hosts ever! House is as amazing as you see in the pictures! Easy walk to downtown. Breakfast is wonderful.

Beautiful & cozy We arrived very late & door to our room was open & waiting for us. Such a warm feeling. Bed was firm & very comfortable; pillows & linens were high quality. Breakfast was delicious & host was friendly & helpful with suggestions for areas to visit. My travel friend & I both love gardening & enjoyed walking around the beautiful grounds. We are already making plans to stay in this beautiful & cozy B&B this Fall or Christmas season. Without a doubt the best all around B&B I have ever stayed in.

Great place to celebrate an event Great way to celebrate a 45th Wedding Anniversary in a beautifully restored early 20th Century Mansion. Hosts, Leif and Danny, have recreated the glory days of this grand home. Breakfast was delicious!

Best Hidden Gem Leith was absolutely the best host I have ever encountered! The place is cozy, warm, and comfortable! It is absolutely a stunning house and the breakfast he personally made was absolutely delicious! I am definitely booking with him again soon!

Awesome stay at Charming B&B! Bed and breakfast is so charming. Love the decor and style throughout the house. Extremely comfortable and exceptionally clean. Outside porch was relaxing! Quaint town that has food trucks on Fri night in downtown along with other restaurants and shops. Host was very welcoming and helpful! Breakfast was awesome. I would highly recommend!!! Only recommendation would be to have juice available for breakfast as some people don’t drink coffee or tea. Also would be nice to have plain toast. Potatoes, eggs and bacon was fabulous and coffee was perfect!! Thanks for a great stay!

Relaxing stay! We loved our stay! The hosts were so accommodating, the bed was wonderfully comfortable and the attention to details with their guests was excellent! We loved the convenience to the downtown area also. If you are in the Auburn/Opelika area, this is a great place to stay!
